Fly High, Dream Big Mixed Media Canvas

Here's my latest DT project for Craft Your Passion Challenges weekly challenge.  This week's challenge is Up in the Air/ Anything that can Fly.  This image is from The Doodle Garden digi store.  I took a 6x6 canvas and sprayed the background with blue sprays in my stash.  Over that I used a stencil and modeling paste to add some texture.  I colored the girl with my alcohol markers and glued her to the canvas.  I put Gesso on the leaves and stamped them with a design.  I also put Gesso on some metal flying hearts and added them to the leaf clusters which also contain a bit of cheese cloth and twine.  I stamped the sentiment on white card stock paper, cut it out and glued it to the canvas.  For the finishing touch I used InkaGold to highlight parts of the canvas as well as to frame it.

Hello Card with Bling

Challenge #10: Bling it Up

How do you bling up your projects? Showcase here! Enter any new paper craft that shows off your bling. Remember to link back directly to your blog post. No back linking.

Codes: M, 3E, C10

Challenge ends May 21st.

Sponsor:
We are tremendously lucky to have The Buckle Boutique as our sponsor.

The design-team-chosen winner of our challenge will receive a $15 gift certificate to The Buckle Boutique

This card was a lot of fun to make.  I used pattern paper from DCWV Primrose paper stack.  The base is 6x6.  I cut out some coordinating paper, tore and inked their edges before layering them on the card base.  Then I put a strip of blue bling from The Buckle Boutique across the layered papers.  I fussy cut flowers from the collection and layered them in the corner with a little bit of cheese cloth.  I cut two tags from the paper stack, stamped HELLO on one of them and layered them in the center of the card.  The finishing touch was a little bling on the tag with the sentiment on it.

Pretty Pastels Altered Embroidery Hoop

Here's my latest DT project for Craft Your Passion Challenges weekly challenge.  This week's challenge is Pretty Pastels.  The image is from A Day for Daisies digi shop.  They have beautiful images and it was really hard to narrow it down to just use one :)  The frame is an altered embroidery hoop.  I painted the hoop white and backed it with some pattern paper.  I colored the girl with my alcohol markers and put some flat back pearls in her hair.  I glued pastel flowers all around the frame.  The finishing touch was from a lace bow glued to the top of the hoop and draping down the sides.

Baby Boo Bunny Girl Easter Tag

Hi everyone.  Here's a cute Easter tag I made for Craft Your Passion Challenge 209.  The image is from Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet.  I love the Spring colors.  I first did a little misting on the tag.  Then I misted and glued some cheese cloth to the tag.  After that I stamped my "Happy Easter" image over the cheese cloth.  To finish it all off, I added the image of this cute little bunny girl, a few flowers and some lace and ribbon.  It was super easy to make and it looks super cute.

If you have any questions or comments I'd love to hear them.  Thanks for stopping by xoxo Randi

Hi Friend

This card is for my first DT project for craftyourpassionchallenges.blogspot.com  I'm really excited to be joining this team of wonderful and talented ladies.

The challenge this week is to not use any pattern papers.  So I turned to my trusty color sprays and stamps to create a colorful background.  I sprayed a white card base with blue, teal, and pink mists and dropped some pastel yellow spots on it.  Next I took a chain link stamp with yellow archival ink and randomly stamped over the dried mists.  I sprayed the cheese cloth with the mists and and glued it to the card.  The strip of paper in the middle is misted with the same mists that I used in the background except reversed.  The base is blue with a few pops of pink and the middle strip is pink with a few pops of blue.

The cute little girl is a digi stamp from Zap Pow Designs who is our sponsor this week.  I colored her with markers and used pop dots to make her stand of the page.  The sentiment is from stamps I already had in my stash.  I finished the whole thing off with a few gold sequins.

I love working in mixed media so this challenge was really fun for me.  The messier I get while I'm crafting, the happier I am :D

If you have any questions or comments I would love to hear them.  Thanks so much for stopping by xoxo Randi
